Idaho WWAMI students complete their Foundations Phase, formerly referred to as “first year”, of medical training at the University of Idaho’s Moscow campus. WWAMI is the UW School of Medicine’s one-of-a-kind, multi-state medical education program. The acronym, WWAMI, stands for the states served by the UW School of Medicine: Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. Jan 10, 2021 · For nearly 50 years, Idaho WWAMI has provided accessible medical education through a partnership between the University of Idaho and the University of Washington School of Medicine. Idaho ranks 49th in the U.S. for the number of primary care doctors per capita. More than 50% of Idaho WWAMI graduates return to practice in Idaho.
